Hey everyone! It’s almost the end of September now.
Time is really flying by so fast. Somehow, my birthday month is just in a few days!
Hope that everyone is, as usual, doing fine (or maybe better?) during these uncertain times. We will be fine!
Anyway, to continue with my review for today, it’s a review of an AXIS-Y product.
AXIS-Y reached out to me for a collaboration at the end of July and though there were some shipment issues, I managed to get the gifted products at the end of August.
The 3 products that I was gifted were this physical sunscreen, their Cera-Heart My Type Duo Cream and their Dark Spot Correcting Glow Serum.
First up for review, would be the sunscreen as it wasn’t something that needs a long testing period. I have tested this for about a month and here are my thoughts!

To give a brief introduction of AXIS-Y, their products are more suited for people who live in humid climates with oily, acne-prone skin.
They follow a 6+1+1 Advanced Formula with their skincare products, and as for this physical sunscreen, their 6+1+1 Formula goes like this:
I like how they give a short summary on what each power ingredient does and for consumers, it is definitely easier to understand.

Look & Feel
The sunscreen came in a box (more close-ups on the box below!) and the tube itself is matte.
As I am also using their Dark Spot Correcting Glow Serum, it was easy to identify both tubs just by touch as one is matte, and the other glossy.
This mini tube also holds 50ml of product. Honestly, if I did not know, I would have thought it had lesser.
For comparison, the KraveBeauty’s Beet the Sun has also 50ml.

Apart from the above ingredients, I wanted to point out that they also have 2% niacinamide in this too. Niacinamide helps to visibly minimize enlarged pores, tighten lax pores, improve uneven skin tone, etc.
Although this is not exactly absorbed into the skin, it is interesting to note that my pores look slightly minimised whenever I use this.
Also, I had never seen this kind of nozzle until I used it. I thought it was a great idea that the cap had a mini space just for the nozzle in the case of spillage.

Application
To be very honest, I thought the consistency looked a little like the Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence.
However, once you start blending it in, it will slowly settle down and feels a little like your skin (when it doesn’t produce oil).
It does take quite a bit of time to blend this into your skin.
AXIS-Y did state that this physical sunscreen has no whitecast, stickiness and pilling and there was indeed no whitecast on my hand after blending.
In my case, there was a tinge of whitecast upon face application and that was what I really liked about this. Rather than a whitecast, I would like to describe it as a slight tone-up effect while it kept my oils at bay.
The slight tone-up effect helps to lighten up my dull-coloured skin. I do think that skin tones that are slightly darker than me may face a more obvious tone-up effect. If you do not prefer that, this might not be the product for you.
I am a combo-oily skin and I never felt it was drying while keeping my oils at bay throughout the day.
I can apply this in the morning and at night, I really do not see much oils peeking through the butterfly area (nose and cheeks) of my face, which is really surprising.
For my dry skin friends, as this product is geared towards oily, acne-prone skin and dries matte (but comfortably), this may not suit you.
You may still try it but I recommend applying a moisturising cream under instead of a gel / lightweight moisturiser.
For oily / normal skin types, you need not do the above recommendation but as every skin type is a little different, do what you need to. 🙂
Oh, and this sunscreen is/has:
- Reef-safe!
- Vegan
- Cruelty-free
- Paraben-free
- Mineral Oil-free
- No Artificial Fragrances
- No Artificial Colours

P.S. I also mixed this with my semi-matte foundation and it helps my foundation last semi-matte for way longer.
Yes
- Great for humid climates
- Tone-up effect (could be a con for some)
- No sunscreen smell
- Portable
- Great design on the nozzle and cap
- Can be used as a primer
No
- Needs to be blended well to prevent awkward unblended spots
- Dry skins may not like this
- You might feel it while it’s on your skin (a little)
Am I Repurchasing?
This was gifted to me by AXIS-Y but on purchasing it in the future, I might because I like how sets on my skin without feeling drying. At the same time, it can double up as a primer for my foundation.
