Review | Dermatory Hypoallergenic Cica Rescue Gauze Pad

Dermatory Hypoallergenic Cica Rescue Gauze Pad Featured

Another Wednesday, another review!

Was suppose to have a post up on Monday or Tuesday too but I decided to push it to the next week because I’ve got a lot on my hands this week.

Anyways, I got this when I was in Korea (again, what’s new) and I was expecting to pay 22,000 won for it but just so happens that they were having 20% off for this so hooray! Got it for slightly cheaper at 17,600 won.

Ingredients taken from IncideCoder.com.

There are 60 pads in here and you can use this in 3 or 4 pads at once to place on areas of your face that needs soothing or instant relief.

Or, you can be like me, and use it only when you have irritated skin or a pimple that just popped not too long ago.

I don’t use more than 1 in one session because there’s only 60 pads in here and I find it too wasteful to use 3 in one go.

This is a two-sided sterilised pad, one with a net-like texture that’s more for light exfoliation and the other side, a soft cotton-like gauze pad.

This is free of 20 skin stimuli that causes allergy and irritation to your skin.

Click to enlarge and read if you wish to. The box looks a little beat up because I brought it back from Korea and the ingredients leaked out a little.

Dermatory Hypoallergenic Cica Rescue Gauze Pad Product

Here is the actual product! It’s great that they have some English words but not everything was in English, which was expected.

Nevertheless, you can go to this page to see the whole box translated in English: LINK

Application

The product came with pincers like so:

Dermatory Hypoallergenic Cica Rescue Gauze Pad Application

Which you could use to take each gauze pad out without using your fingers. I like that it’s hygienic that way because I definitely don’t like double dipping!

Be careful not to take out more than 1 by accident though, sometimes the pads stick together.

Generally, it’s pretty easy to take one out.

I’ve posted a video below to show you how the sides of the gauze pad look.

It isn’t too obvious but you can see that one is more for exfoliation and the other is a soft gauze pad.

I’ve got a closer closeup on my instagram!

I like using the rougher part to give a thorough swipe all around my skin first before placing the softer side on the area I want relief.

This can be in place of your toner as it’s a pretty thin consistency once you rub it all around.

So the way I use this is:

Mamonde Rose Water Toner > swipe with this pad, leave it on troubled area for about 3 minutes, swipe with remaining product > finish off with my SANA Namerakahonpo Emulsion NA

Sometimes I rotate the gauze pad on other problematic areas if I have more than one.

The main ingredients in this are Azulene (also chamomile extract) and Cica (also Centella Asiatica).

They are anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and also aids in wound healing and soothing.

That is the reason why they can calm down redness after a few minutes use.

I’m not too sure on how long it reduces redness, but it definitely will help in makeup application especially when your skin is at a lower temperature.

I’ve personally used this on and off since August and I don’t think it helps a great deal in relieving my pimples. It does reduce the redness in it, not exactly the size of it.

However, when I get an itchy reaction from dust or other allergens, this definitely helps reduce the redness and calms it down.

Yes

  • Reduces redness temporarily
  • Provides cica essence to skin directly preventing further irritation
  • Net gauze is a good barrier and prevents essence from evaporating
  • Cooling effect on skin
  • Relieves allergic reactions quicker
  • Pincers provided (hygienic)
  • Essence in tub can be used with normal thin cotton pads for extra relief
  • Didn’t irritate or break me out

No

  • Only 60 pads (they recommend 3-4 pads each usage, so you’d use that up in no time)
  • More for temporary relief and not long term improvements (it’s a rescue pad for a reason!)

Am I Repurchasing?

I’ve never tried the COSRX Pimple Pads or the other pad variants but I picked this up hoping it may be better.

Not too sure about it anymore but I won’t be repurchasing because I have other DIY ways of relieving my skin temporarily.

Overall Rating:

3 out of 5

Have you tried any of these pads? What are your thoughts?
