Hello! Have you applied sunscreen for your face yet? Apply it!!!
If you’re reading this at night, have you cleansed your face properly then?
If not, use a makeup remover before bed as we all know sunblocks/sunscreens are not skincare unless you want an outbreak! Of pimples!
Okay that would be my nightmare.
Digressed from the main point of this post haha. I’ll be reviewing the innisfree sunblock for you today. Read on!
Read my previous review: Review | TonyMoly Black Tea London Classic Toner
What: Innisfree Daily UV Protection Cream (Mild) SPF 35 PA++
Price: S$13
Weight: 50ml
Period-After-Opening: 12 months
What innisfree claims it doesn’t have:
5-Free system : Free of animal ingredients, mineral oils, synthetic fragrances, tar dye and talc
Apparently, this product contains only Titanium Dioxide, and no Zinc Oxide. I did some research and BeautyEditor mentioned this:
The main thing you don’t want to do is purchase a sunscreen that only contains titanium dioxide.
…titanium dioxide gives you just partial protection against UVA rays, so it’s not truly broad-spectrum. It can protect you from a sunburn, but won’t do enough against the longer UVA wavelengths that cause premature aging.
In contrast, zinc oxide gives you the best possible protection.
Michelle VillettThat might be the reason why this is only PA++, while the No Sebum version which has both ingredients is a PA+++. That’s only my conjecture haha.
So do take note about this as we move on.
PS:
SPF 35 = 350 mins of protection under the sun. (35 x 10min) – UV B rays (SPF = Sun Protection Factor)
PA++ = the more +, the higher level of protection from UV A rays (PA = Protective Grade of UV A)
I have bought the previous innisfree sunscreens that were priced at S$13. I suppose the current one that I have now is the upgraded version since I do not see the past ones at all.
Plus, I recycled my innisfree skincare products at their outlet to get 50 points for each bottle! Did you know that 50 points is equivalent to $1? You can register to be a member at any outlet and get your card so you can scan it for points each time you purchase something.
Shiz I’m digressing again. I’m not an affiliate of innisfree btw, just sharing the good stuff. If you already know, good for you!
For real, I’m moving on now haha.
Let’s start with the LAYNA criteria. (TL;DR? Hop over to my Yes & No criteria below 🙂 )
Look & Feel
It comes with a glossy surface packaging in white. I actually have the one in ‘no sebum’ now and it’s also in a similar packaging except just matte. It’s not the first time I’ve noticed innisfree using this method to differentiate between the more ‘moisturising’ and the ‘matte’ ones.
Application
Firstly, this is a physical sunscreen. The application of this feels like a very basic sunscreen. Like its name ‘Protection Cream’, it was more on the light and moisturising side kind of creamy and isn’t to the extent that it feels oily. I feel that it makes a good base for me whenever I use liquid foundation. For reference, the current foundation I’m using now is the FENTY BEAUTY Pro Filt’r – Soft Matte Longwear Foundation. Damn, what a mouthful. It’s a pretty watery foundation, so I found that it works better on more moisturised skin.
For e.g, I’d use this sunscreen instead of the No Sebum one because i’m almost sure that the foundation will bring out any dry spots that I may have near the corners of my lip or my U-zone if I use the No Sebum one.
Btw, the ‘No Sebum’ sunscreen has a slight white cast so I can’t use it alone and go out. Whereas, this ‘mild’ one looks natural and is without any white cast once you blend it out.
The smell of this sunscreen is the usual sunblock smell but I’m used to it and I don’t mind it at all. It fades away after a few minutes anyway!

Yes
- SPF 35 PA++ for daily use is enough if you’re not doing much under the sun
- Lightweight
- Doesn’t break me out
- Affordable
- Portable to bring around
- Feels like moisturised skin after applying it
No
- Only has Titanium Dioxide (no Zinc Oxide – leads to lesser UV A protection)
Am I Repurchasing?
I definitely would! It’s affordable and does the job well.
As always, do know that everyone’s skin is different. What works (and doesn’t break me out) for me, may not work for you.
Remember to remove your sunscreen/sunblock with a makeup remover though. This is very important as sunscreen isn’t skincare. Think of it as a layer of protection. Also, it’s the reason why we need to reapply when it gets rubbed off.
Again, failure to remove it properly might lead to breakouts. I’m sure we don’t like that, do we?

Okay, that’s it for today! Hope you liked my review of the innisfree Daily UV Protection Cream (Mild).

hem…do you think it will makes your eyes watery after a few hours applied, maybe its because the formlar is not stable..
Hi Phoebe, I’ve actually never experienced something like this for this product. It should be fine unless your eyes are rly sensitive.
A great review on something so important!
Thank you! 🙂
