Hello!!!
Happy Wednesday from me to you!
How many of you have bought products from the recommendations of others? From YouTubers, friends or even the internet.
I have! This was a product I bought from watching Ssin-nim on YouTube. Kudos if you know her, I think she’s really funny haha.
She’s a Korean YouTuber, but don’t worry, she has English Subs on all her vids 🙂
Anyway, she recommended this in one of her videos and I got interested in it.
I mean, oat? I’m all for it! But here’s my real thoughts on this.
What: Innisfree Oat Mild Moisture Suncream SPF 50+ PA+++
Price: 9,000 won
Weight: 40 ml
Period-After-Opening: 12 months
Ingredients taken from Skincarisma.
However, I did notice that water was the first ingredient in this product and not Cyclomethicone like stated in the website.
So I changed the placings but it’s just the first two ingredients!
Anyway, from the ingredients, I noticed some familiar words.
It contains Oat Kernel Extract (Avena Sativa), Chia Seed Extract (Salvia Hispanica), Centella Asiatica Extract and Propanediol.
Oat Kernel Extract has emollient and anti-oxidant properties, Chia Seed Extract has emollient properties and the Centella Asiatica Extract serves as an anti-inflammatory ingredient.
Propanediol on the other hand is…
There are some ingredients in here that isn’t good for fungal acne so if you suffer from that, do be aware.
If you’re not sure what fungal acne is, here’s a helpful article by Alexis Diaz on theklog.co:

P.S. it’s not really ‘acne’ but just a way it’s called.

Look & Feel
This retails for 9,000 won for 40ml and they also sold the 80ml size for slightly lesser than 18,000 won.
I almost succumbed to just getting the bigger size one but my boyfriend told me to try using it in Korea, and if it’s really good, to get it again.
I’m glad I bought the smaller amount now!
Btw, this isn’t sold in my country’s innisfree (Singapore) yet so that was the reason why I contemplated on getting a bigger size.
This comes in a pretty small and portable squeezable tube.
Simple packaging and screams ‘innisfree’!
Application
As this contains both Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide, it is a physical sunscreen and one with a slight white cast as well!
I applied it on the right side and right after applying, you can see a dewy-looking application.
The consistency is pretty thick but upon applying and rubbing it onto your skin, it starts spreading nicely and produces a sheen.
However, don’t let it fool you.
Just almost 2 minutes later, it dries to a dry and almost tacky finish.
Matte in all of its essence.
But not as bad as the No Sebum line.
If you’re interested, I have 2 other reviews of Innisfree sunscreens.

I saw Ssin-nim using this under makeup so I thought it’d be good, and yes, I tried it.
It was not a good makeup base. I read one other review of this and the reviewer said it was good under makeup.
Well, for me, or my foundation, it just didn’t seem to sit right.
Foundation starts to look dry and cracked around weird places.
Applying concealer on it didn’t seem to work well either 🙁
I have a habit of letting my products set for a few minutes before beginning makeup so if you start right when it has its sheen, it might work for you.
On my bare skin…
It got a little dry on my dehydrated and oily combination skin as well so do moisturise well beforehand.
Especially so if you’ve got dry skin!
However, I noticed that it keeps my oil at bay for much longer.
The scent of this is like citrus and the ingredient actually contains Orange Peel Oil so that could be why.
Regarding the white cast, I’m about a no. 23, fair-light neutral, warm beige kind of foundation girl and it can get a little obvious that I’ve got some sort of tone-up product on my face so take note of this too.
I don’t really mind because I only wear this around my neighbourhood or when I’m going somewhere not too far out.
One more thing to note is how hard this sticks to the skin.
Remember to remove it properly or it’ll clog your pores.
Yes
- Affordable for the amount
- Bottle is recyclable at Innisfree stores (yes I like that as a pro & I get $1 back hehe)
- Smells refreshing
- High Sun Protection Factor of 50 and a 3 + on the Protective grade of UVA
- Can be used on body too
- Keeps oil at bay for longer
No
- Pretty hard to remove thoroughly
- Slight white cast (could be a con for some who are a little darker than me)
- Not widely available unless bought online
- Not good under makeup
- Drying throughout the day
Am I Repurchasing?
Nah. I’m sad that this didn’t work for me. Even though this was a recommendation from a YouTuber I watch, I’ll still continue to watch her because I know everyone’s skin is different haha.
You just need some experimenting.
Not all is lost!
