Have you heard of the Seoul Bamdokkaebi Night Market?
I actually mentioned it briefly in my previous Travel Tuesday post so click there if you like!

Btw, Bam means Night and Dokkaebi means Goblin.
In this post, I’ll be introducing a night market that you can visit when you come to Korea – along with pictures I took while I was there.
*Picture heavy*
For all information and directions, please head on over to: https://www.bamdokkaebi.org/?_l=en
So the night market has a lot of things!
Food, handmade accessories, beverages, alcohol, cocktail and even performances if you’re lucky at that time!
I wanted to head to this place because of the food trucks they have.
They are trucks that can be transformed into a mini food stall and that was an interesting concept to me.
Creative too. Here’s a short description from their website about the one I went to in Yeouido.
Anyway, just something to note when you click into the web:
There might be notices like this informing you of the changes in timing so just take note – Translated the options for you so you know what they mean.
Btw, here’s some helping words for the above notice: 금 (Geum) is short for Fri(day), 토 (To) for Sat(urday) and 일 (Ee-l) for Sun(day).
There are 5 locations that do not follow seasons:
@Yeouido (여의도)
@Banpo (반포)
@DDP (Dongdaemun Design Plaza)
@Cheonggyecheon (청계천)
@Oil Tank Culture Park (문화비축기지)
And 1 location – not inside the notice above, @Cheonggye Plaza (청계광장 – 시즌 마켓 Season Market), only happens during seasons.
Since they have so many locations for you to visit, you can try to make some time to come in the evening and enjoy the food, drinks and crowd!
Now that we’re done with the introduction, let me show you some food and pictures I took.
Oh yeah, before that, let me give you a warning that because this is in the Han River where people order deliveries to eat there, when you reach the entrance of this place, there will possibly be up to 15-20 ahjummas (aunties) giving out flyers for Chicken, Rice cake, other food delivery that you can eat while you’re on a picnic, they have it all.
It was so crazy because everyone will try to shove it into your hands asking you to take it. When you go back though, they wouldn’t give it to you of course.
Haha but it was so funny seeing everyone shoved with flyers and smiles on the aunties’ faces.
So now for the pictures! Enjoy 🙂
They have an emergency room just in case something happens to anyone.
Kids and adults of all ages were playing in the pool despite the hottest summer happening then. Really wanted to join them but I didn’t bring any extra clothes because I didn’t know about this area.
People were even walking their dogs, enjoying the breeze by the river. The weather was really good that day, albeit hot but still lovely.
Pardon the fish eye lens pictures, as I couldn’t capture much of the beauty without it on my iPhone 7 haha.
Playing with the water in the streams, basically even building tents to enjoy picnics!
There were carts on the left like this that sold ice water (얼음 물) and ice coffee (냉커피). Don’t remember the price but I think it was 2 or 3,000 won (~3 USD).
They also have stalls like these that sell handmade bracelets, pouches, earrings. Handmade everything! Some were so pretty.
A Thai food stall and some more in sight. I’ve seen crepes, shrimps, steaks, burgers, fries and a lot more.
We settled to try this stall and got a Medium Rare steak! Apparently, the stall only prepares medium rare because they say it tastes the best.
They have the Aligot (pronounced aligo I think, since that’s what’s written in the menu) Cheese with steak (9,000 won), Steak and salad (8,000 won), Grilled steak (8,000 won) and Oriental steak (9,000 won).
For drinks, they only serve a Sangria-ade for 4,000 won.
Also, funny thing about their shirts. If you see that guy cooking in the middle with his back facing me, his shirt says ‘Live with Meat or Live with Me’ in Korean which was pretty punny and witty.
There’s always something about the wordplays in Korean advertisements that get me lol.
Got the steak and salad because I don’t really want to eat it with that much cheese on top. Beef is medium rare as stated, soft and juicy but there were some bits that I couldn’t finish chewing on lol. Salad was great too.
Next stop, we decided to try a burger from Capri. Got the American Cheese Burger for 6,900 won and if you would like to add on a patty, it’d be 1,000 won more.
This was how it looked and damn was it yummy. I liked it and although 6,900 won for just a burger was a little expensive, I think this was more worth it than the Shake Shack burger I had in Korea lol.
This stall’s beef was apparently from Australia and their bacon was from America.
We also got a Orange-ade I think from some stall which I forgot to take pictures of. That was our light dinner before we headed home soon to order something from a food delivery app.
Hehe.
It was a very relaxing and beautiful place to unwind.
I’ll definitely come back to try the other locations as well as they all have a different theme 🙂
Talk to you guys again soon!
